A.J. Green’s early destruction buried the Ravens before halftime

Seventeen minutes into a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, A.J. Green set a career-high for touchdowns in a game when he caught his third from Andy Dalton.

Green, 30, earned spots in the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven NFL seasons and has 61 career touchdowns, but his previous single-game high was the six times he scored two touchdowns.

Against the Ravens, Green scored on each of the Bengals’ first three drives from 4, 32, and 7 yards. His third of the night came with just over 13 minutes left in the second quarter:

It was a career night for Green, even though he caught just two more passes for 26 yards in the last 43 minutes of the game.

Thanks to his strong start and the contributions of Tyler Boyd, who had a 14-yard touchdown in the second quarter, the Bengals buried the Ravens with a 28-7 start. Baltimore attempted to come back, but Green’s early touchdowns proved too much.
