This is absolutely disgusting. What about addiction being generally recognized in the medical community today as a disease? What about all the people who were NOT drug abusers but were led to believe by a trusted doctor that the risk of harm was minuscule? The article says that Purdue instructed it’s reps to try “suggesting that the addictive opioid was an alternative to safe medications like Tylenol”. Ugh. My family has been highly and tragically affected by addiction, as have so many others, and this article made my blood boil.
